Freedom Launch is our Labor Day launch, planned for 31 August—2 September. It will be a three-day research and sport launch under TRA rules. NAR members are welcome.

Flight fees are $10 per day for members or $15 per day for non-members. The special weekend price for members is $20 ($10 savings).

Please Sign up for each day you want to fly. There is an event page for each day.

Set up for the event will begin at 05:00 PM on Friday. Those who assist with setup get first dibs on canopy and parking locations. Also, those who volunteer for 4 credits worth of duty get one free day fo flight fees at a future launch.

Any flights above 8K or an L will require prior approval, so fill out the following form for flight review:

To all, if you plan to assist with setting up Friday or tearing down on Monday, please sign up. If you are level 2, please volunteer to assist with RSO and LCO duty. The more volunteers we acquire, the high likelihood that we fly 9-5 by allowing our staff to rest. We will train you to run the equipment.

Any good words on the vendors that will be at Freedom Launch? I hope Jonathon Hill will be there. He was at a launch with SAR in Palm Bay FL in July and had a TON of CTI motors and casings. For RSC staff, looking forward to assisting w/ RSO and LCO duties.

I plan on being there Saturday/Sunday. I have an L820 planed in my Bullpup and an M flight to be determined.

Performance Hobbies will be there

I will likely try for L2 certification that weekend. I'm a NAR (and club) member, but its a Tripoli launch. Can I still do level 2 certification under NAR?

What motor and how high?

Fill out the form and tell me what equipment you need on the form.

Ok, we are tightening up plans. Please RSVP on the site. We will try to have food truck if we have enough attendance.

I plan to be there all 3 days. Flying the 6" Black Brant on a 3G75 L and some others, all on commercial motors this time. Will need 1515 rail, 1010 rail and 1/2" rod.
I don't know how much attendance you will get as Airfest and other launches are the same weekend.

A little history on the launch...
After we held LDRS in 1996 on July 4th the next year we we had a 3 day launch also on July 4th. After that the 4th was mid week so the Supersod farm was closed only 1 day only 1 day. However we kept the name even though we moved it to Labor day weekend but kept the name.

What motor and how high?
I have a CTI J295 and J380. Don't have exact numbers in front of me now, but both sims have them just under 2km. Was going to make a game time decision on which one to launch on for the L2. Will be there either Saturday or Sunday depending on weather & schedule. Happy to share anything else if you need it.

Should be fine. Just making sure you were not going minimum diameter.
